Hampshire is a popular holiday area, with tourist attractions including its many seaside resorts, the maritime area in Portsmouth and the motor museum at Beaulieu. The New Forest National Park lies within the borders, as does a large area of the South Downs which is scheduled to become a National Park.
Hampshire has a long maritime history and two of England's largest ports lie on its coast. The county is famed as home of the writers Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.
Hampshire enjoys a milder climate than most areas of the British Isles, being in the far south it benefits from the climate stabilising effect of the sea and protected against the more extreme weather of the Atlantic coast. In 2006 Gosport came third in a survey of the sunniest places in the UK! (source: Halifax - Quality of Life Survey).
If you come and stay with us during one of the many international and national yacht races, including the famous Cowes Week in August, you will see the splendour of all the yachts in The Solent.

If you would like to combine your stay with being on the water, we are able to arrange rib rides, days out sailing, evening sailing or fishing trips, which are all great ways of exploring what the area has to offer.
